Customer terms

DRAFT – for legal review. This page is a starting template, not legal advice. Have a solicitor review it before launch.

1. Who we are

MyLocalMechanic ("we", "us") runs www.mylocalmechanic.pro, a platform that connects customers with independent mechanics. [Company name, number and registered address – TO COMPLETE.]

2. Our role

The mechanic carries out the work and is responsible for it. We provide the booking platform, take payment on the mechanic's behalf, and help resolve problems.

3. Quotes and prices

Your quote is a fixed price for the work described, based on the details you give us. If your car's details are wrong or the mechanic finds the job is different, they'll explain and give you a new price before doing anything else.

4. Payment

We place a hold on your card when you book and charge it when you approve the completed work. If you don't respond within [X] days of the mechanic marking the job complete, we may treat the job as approved. [TO CONFIRM.]

5. Cancellations

See our cancellation policy.

6. Guarantee

See our guarantee. This doesn't affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

7. Liability

[TO COMPLETE with legal advice.]

8. Complaints and law

See our complaints process. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. [Check for Scotland / Northern Ireland customers.]
